Silencio y Piedad: A Journey of Creative Collaboration

Silencio y Piedad is a play written by Lorena Peralta, born out of a collaborative effort between Lorena, our creative colleague Angel J. Rivas, and myself. In October 2023, we came together to develop a unique narrative that would serve as a creative evolution of my previous play, The Silent Observer.

We met once a month, immersing ourselves in the world of Silencio y Piedad, developing its characters, themes, and atmosphere. Once we had a solid script in place, we hosted a private reading with a select group of creative artists to gain valuable feedback and insights. This reading helped us refine the play further, and we eventually staged a workshop production under the guidance of Brookmil Productions, with Angel J. Rivas and myself taking on key roles in the creative process.

The reason I felt compelled to tell this story is because it showcases a rare and intimate art form—a group of young artists simply striving to create meaningful work. In these challenging times, I believe it is more important than ever to tell stories rooted in hope, passion, and the resilience of the human spirit.
